Soft fabrics, “sweet” shades, balance in the use of materials and beautiful furniture compose the setting of the following cottage. The space looks very bright and attractive because of the light shades that have been used in most of the house. The table made of aged wood and some more rustic details in the space add style and character to the kitchen. Do you want to adopt the rustic decor in your space? Then you should put decorative elements and materials that originate from the rural-traditional style. Antique furniture, vintage constructions, combination of traditional materials, objects and decorations influenced by rural life. You will also want to add some rustic furniture which will include some woods and some styles that match.
Pale shades
In French decoration, pale shades are widely used in combination with wood, marble and vintage elements. In the kitchen of the photo below, what we noticed and exists in several kitchens in France are large counters that extend and create an extra space for the French to eat and drink their coffee in comfort and tranquility.
Character details
In French kitchens you will see a combination of materials, such as aged stone, wooden beams and marble countertops. All the materials mix with each other and in combination with the vintage metal lamp they create a space that looks like a beautiful restaurant taken from the old ones. The French also love very long curtains that literally “lick” the floors and these can add a touch of elegance. Tie them to add even more grace! They also love rich wallpapers, classy colors and large furniture pieces all of which are bold but still a tiny bit understated; a confusing but rewarding design effort.
The French love stone
One of the favorite materials of the French is stone. In most cottages in France you will find houses with a strong element of stone. The French love to use this material indoors and outdoors.
If you want to adopt this style too but do not want to spend a fortune you can simply stick fake stones on your wall which are quite plausible. These stones are known as airstone tiles and you can find them here, while the special glue, to stick the stones yourself on the column or anywhere else in your house, you will find it easy enough to undertake yourself. You can use upholstered furniture to easily give style to your bedroom drawer set and add a little paint or some rustic charm by upgrading it to shabby chic. This doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive but can look divine! The simplest way is to paint a wooden piece of furniture in a shade that you like and before it dries well, rub the paint with a sponge.
