Homestyle Creamy Spaghetti

08.12.2016 by Icar //

Filipino food like any other cuisine is distinct in terms of taste. I may be wrong but as far as I know it may be attributed to the fact that Philippines in the past had been colonized by several countries. The fusion of the different cuisines from the countries which colonized us plus our own native existing one resulted to what we consider now as Filipino cuisine which is considered to be “Asia’s most unique, idiosyncratic, and underrated culinary tradition” according to www.seriouseats.com.

Thank you to Ragu for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me pass on my family traditions.

In my own opinion, this distinctiveness is maybe because of our inclination to saute most of our dishes. Saute as per definition means “To cook food rapidly in a frying pan using a small amount of fat, until it turns golden-brown.” And so I grew up learning how to cook the same way, sauteing with garlic and onion with everything first including this Filipino Style Creamy Mushroom Pasta.

Creamy Pasta in Ragu Homestyle Sauce

Ragu Homestyle Sauces + Filipino Flavor

If you have a daughter who can live with pasta alone, then it is a great relief for me to always have RAGÚ® Homestyle sauces readily available in stock at home. A delicious dish just like Filipino dish always takes time and effort to make, you don’t take short cuts and make sure that everything is cooked perfectly.

Filipino Homestyle Creamy Mushroom Pasta

This is how RAGÚ® Homestyle sauces were made-ingredients are peeled, chopped and simmered together with a special blend of herbs (basil, fennel, oregano and black pepper) to layer and build the flavor to make sure that the sauce is made right, no added artificial flavors, artificial colors or high fructose corn syrup, just perfect for that unique homestyle flavor! With Ragu Homestyle sauces, you don’t need much to concoct a delicious pasta dish.

How can you tell? You can tell because it hugs the pasta.

Homestyle Creamy Spaghetti

I must admit, I miss the old traditional homecooked/homestyle flavor of Filipino food, but Ragu Homestyle sauces that has become a staple in our cupboard, especially now that school will be starting, I  can never do wrong with pasta and packed lunches-no more missing homecooked meals.

Visit the Ragu Homestyle website to learn more about the new line of Ragu Homestyle sauces and find a taste of home.
