As a mom, my child’s health is my number one priority. I always want to make sure that my daughter is always in good if not perfect condition. That leaves me very careful with the food I let her eat and choosy with the products I use on her.
Ceana’s skin is dry. I don’t know but it may be hereditary (because my husband has) but this condition started manifesting late of last year. She developed dry spots on several creases on her upper extremities like her elbows and wrists. It becomes so dry that her tendency is to scratch the itchy part until it becomes sore.
As what her doctor suggested, hydro cortisone can temporarily soothe the itchiness. Use of mild soap (and other products without harsh chemicals) and moisturizer is highly recommended to hydrate the skin. And so I always make it a point to apply lotion to her skin especially after shower and during different times of the day. I have been very particular with the products I use with her even before. I should look into this for my own skin, it get so dry in the winter it hurts!
Those sound like great products, not just for children with dry skin. I love the idea of being mindful about what I put on my children since so much of it permeates through their skin.
My daughter had sensitive, itchy skin as well and scratching was a huge problem. Glad to see they are making products for dry skin and babies.
My son had horrible eczema as an infant and a similar brand that’s certified organic really helped!
I can only imagine how good this must smell. I love the scent of coconuts even if it is just a mild scent. I wasn’t aware of this product.
