Well I am back from an unexpected hiatus which started from the last week of July until the last week of September. It was because of a family matter which I have to attend to immediately so that meant lesser time to update this blog. I will divulge more stories in my upcoming posts. Not many of you may know, but I actually celebrated my first year in blogging in August. I can’t believe it has been a year since I tested the waters and tried what many others were doing. I know having a reliable blog hosting service like Hostiserver made it easier to test those waters. I don’t personally use Hostiserver but I’ve heard from plenty of blogger friends that their service has been exceptional and it helped them with the start of their blogging journey.
It all started with my eagerness to join online giveaways and contest. Along the way, I discovered lots of blog catering to different niches. It made me realise that since there is so much scope online for blogs, that I need to get every edge I can get with my blog. A friend recommended that I take a free seo course so I can understand the basics of what is required to perform well in search engines. But what interested me the most were the mom blogs especially those that were written by breastfeeding moms, as I was on the peak of breastfeeding that time. I can say, I survived my breastfeeding stint (which just ended August 7-that is after 19 gruelling months) because of the inspiration I got from reading what these mommy bloggers wrote. That is when I got my inspiration to start a blog as well. I can say I am not really much of a writer, I don’t have flair to play with words but I just express what I feel thru words. I would like to expand my online influence at some stage and break into the realms of the various social media sites – Instagram intrigues me the most as I think I would like to try my hand at making some striking image-based content. Having an existing following from my blog, I might not find it too difficult to get the ball rolling on this endeavor but I would ideally like to grow it more than that – and I certainly want to avoid buying fake followers! I’ve since learned about Nitreo and I think that could be the answer as it helps you attain an organic follower growth and it also allows you to manage your account in greater depth! I can’t wait to begin expanding my online presence into these areas!
Starting a blog is like rearing a child that needs tender loving care, patience and perseverance. There’s no easy way around it, no fast forward, no rewind and not even a pause. It could have been much easier before, if I have read http://www.hereshowtomakeawebsite.com/ because it will surely help my starting out period hassle-free. But then, I haven’t gone that far yet my numbers and stats may have increased as compared to what it was a year ago. But one thing’s for sure-there is always room to improve and greater things to share on this blog. This is one thing I promise to the regulars of this blog, a new and much improved My Charmed Mom.

welcome back to blogging 🙂 sometimes blogging also keeps the sanity of most moms (especially the ones at home), right? 😉

I agree, it gives us an outlet, apart from our everyday responsibilities and duties as moms!

I am so glad you are back. I have found that blogging helps keep my mind exploring things a little different from all sides aside just the way I was before.
