Let’s be honest; sources of stress are everywhere.
There are stressors at work, with heavy workloads, difficult employers, and gossiping colleagues.
There are stressors at home, with family arguments, money worries, and maintenance problems.
And there are all kinds of other stressors, many of which you will be able to list yourself.
We all face stress every day, but it’s what we do with the problem that matters. And so turning to you, we ask the question.
What are you doing to de-stress your life?
To ensure positive mental health, you need to be proactive.
By doing so, you might avoid the health issues that are related to stress, which include depression, high blood pressure, and other stress-related health issues.
Here are some suggestions to put you on a less stressed-out path.
#1: Don’t ignore your stressors
Consider the sources of your stress and find ways to manage them. They might never go away if you don’t, and you might struggle to cope eventually.
As examples, you might…
Talk to your boss if he is working you too hard, or find another place of employment if your current job threatens to derail your mental health.
Sit down and talk with your family if there are any tensions between you, or consider family counseling if that would be useful to you.
Look at ways to save money at home if you things are tight, and/or speak to a debt charity if you need help to manage your money.
These are just a few stressors, but we hope you get the point. Do something rather than nothing about the stressors in your life, for the betterment of your health and wellbeing.
#2: Look for opportunities to de-stress
If you can’t avoid your stressors, you should make every effort to find ways to relax. By doing so, you will come to a place of calm and peace, and the effects of stress won’t damage your health.
So, you might spend more time in your garden, as the fresh air and beauty of your surroundings will do you a world of good. Purchase some comfortable furniture so you can put your feet up, plant some aromatic flowers, and even add a water feature or pond to help calm your mental state. Visit your local garden center for supplies, or look for affordable accessories online, such as perigold.com for garden furniture and ePumps.com for the Tsurumi pump necessary for a pond.
Find space inside of your home to relax too, and remind other family members that you need a little me-time occasionally. During these times, get a bath, read your Bible, watch TV, engage with your hobbies, and do anything else that will relax you.
Another way to destress is through the use of cannabis. Recreational use is legal in some states and in most others, you can get a card for medical marijuana if you go to the doctors about your stress and anxiety. If you have not used marijuana before, you should definitely look into it to see if it is truly right for you. For instance, although some people like to use cannabis to make edibles, others prefer to smoke it using a bong or a pipe. Using cannabis in this way is one of a few ways to smoke weed without papers.
Accordingly, using a bong or a pipe can actually trap most of the toxins that would have otherwise been inhaled straight into your lungs if you were to smoke using a cannabis-infused cigarette and therefore bongs are well suited to cannabis users living with immunodeficiency disorders. You can Read more here about some of the most popular types of pipes and bongs.
Above all there are plenty of places where you can get more information about cannabis. Not sure where to get started? If you live in D.C., Urban Aroma have got a lot of useful guides on vendors so be sure to check out their site if you want to find out more. Marijuana has been shown to have calming effects that can help you destress if you’ve been having a hard time. It also helps things like chronic pain or epilepsy which gives people even more reasons to check it out.
There are other ways to de-stress your life too. So, you might spend more time with your family and friends, taking part in activities that promote fun and laughter. You might spend more time with God, giving Him all of your cares and worries. And you might talk to a counselor if that would be helpful to you, as he or she might help you gain a better perspective on your stressors.
And so…
Today, do something rather than nothing. List your stressors and try to tackle them. And make time to relax and de-stress, as you will start to feel better if you do.
By taking these steps, you will preserve your mental health, and your life will be a better one.
So think, what can you do today to de-stress your life?
