Welcome to the Newbie Blog Hop this Week, hosted by A Little Bit of Everything and My Charmed Mom
This weeks Featured Blogger is The Rebel Sweetheart
Tell me a little bit about yourself and your family.
My name is Czjai (pronounced C-J) and I'm from the Philippines. I've been married for four years to my husband, who is currently working in South Korea. We have a three-year old son, who started schooling last June. He's currently in Kindergarten, and enjoys going to school a lot!
I used to work for a telecoms company, but I stopped working as soon as I gave birth to my son. Hence, my husband decided to work overseas so he could earn more and provide for us better. His work in South Korea paved the way for my fascination with ancient Korean history, and my addiction to Korean pop culture, Korean dramas, and Korean cosmetics.
Aside from makeup, I also love literature, movies, music, and football. I'm a huge wrestling fan ever since I was a kid, and now I'm into mixed martial arts and the UFC.
Oh, and I may look snobbish and all, but I don't bite. Really. 🙂
Why did you start blogging? Is this also why you continue blogging?
Writing has always been my passion. This is also the reason why I took up Development Communication in the University of the Philippines, and why I began blogging in 2004.
Mommy duties forced me to take a break from blogging. I ended the hiatus last year, and created The Rebel Sweetheart. I missed blogging (and writing, in general) too much! And my neurons were itching to function and practically begging me to write again, lol.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?Time constraints are my biggest problem. Between household chores and taking care of my son, I try to squeeze blogging in. It's crazy, I tell you! I usually get only four or five hours of sleep on a daily basis, just so I could do everything I need to do for the day. So don't be surprised when you see my eyebags and horribly dark undereyes. They just won't go away!
Share your top 3 favorite blogs to read and why?
http://paulocoelhoblog.com/ – I just have to have my daily fix of wisdom and inspiration from Paulo Coelho, one of the greatest literary icons of this time.
http://www.dramabeans.com/ – For my Kdrama addiction. I love the witty sarcasm injected in the drama recaps.
http://www.temptalia.com/ – One of the best beauty blogs I know. From swatches to product reviews, this blog has it all.
What is your best advice for a Newbie Blogger?
No blog is an island. A blogger wouldn't survive by mere blog posts. You have to have a group, a network, a fanbase to help you grow. You have to socialize with fellow bloggers, interact with your readers for you to thrive and flourish in the blogosphere.
Love what you do. If you're really passionate about blogging, then most likely, you will update your blog often and produce quality blog posts.
Read and proofread. Before hitting the 'submit' button, always, always, always check your blog post for typo mistakes and grammatical errors. Grammar and sentence construction can make or break it, when it comes to blogging – and writing as a whole.
