It is heart-breaking for me to find out that while my daughter is enjoying Kindergarten at school, some other girls her age in other parts of the world are forced to drop out of school due to poverty and lack of money to support education. In other cases, these girls are forced to do labor at such a young age in order to survive and much worse, can do a few days without consuming anything. We always remind Ceana, that in everything, she should give thanks.
Meet Evelesi, an 11-year old girl from Malawi. She and family would sometimes go up to 3 days without food because they have no money. Because of this her mother thought Evelesi is going to die. Lack of money almost kept her from school-and her dream of becoming a nurse.
But CARE helped Evelesi and her family-they joined a savings group and bought a goat. CARE, is a global leader within a worldwide movement which is dedicated to ending poverty and is known for their unshakeable commitment to the dignity of people. CARE works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice.
