Rod Stewart has spent four decades being a rock star, three being a parent, and has a new album’s worth of rollicking stories to tell. I remember in 1993, when two of his songs became popular, “All for Love” which is the hit song in the movie “Three Musketeers” and then the immortal “Have I Told You Lately” which is a romantic song.
Time is his first album of new material in almost 20 years (and his hairstyle hasn’t changed one bit!). Time, whihc was released on May 7th, 2013, marks Stewart’s long-awaited return to his songwriting roots and features 12 tracks, 11 of which he wrote and produced.
The album was born from a burst of inspiration that came while Rod was reviewing his life for his recent memoir. Rod rediscovered his voice as a songwriter and rekindled his gift for writing the honest, nerve-touching narratives that have been the cornerstone to the first three decades of his career.
My favorites upon listening to the album were the songs about women “She Makes Me Happy” which is quite a moral booster for a woman, if you hear this song sang to you especially by your husband! “Finest Woman” is quite danceable and I feel it is perfect for a long drive, a song that you can sing with. Lastly, “Beautiful Morning” which is an inspiring song, to motivate you to start your day beautifully.
Along with the release of Time, Stewart is set to embark on the European leg of his Live the Life tour on June 1st, while American dates with Steve Winwood will kick off October 17th. Enjoy the 12 tracks from the Time album :
1. She Makes Me Happy
2. Can’t Stop Me Now
3. It’s Over
4. Brighton Beach
5. Beautiful Morning
6. Live The Life
7. Finest Woman

There are some bands whose sound may be easily linked with both, progressive and alternative rock, giving as a result music that might also be loved by the fans of those two genres; I believe it happens with 3 (Three), a USA band whose new album entitled “The Ghost You Gave To Me” has just been released through Metal Blade Records; an album that consists on twelve songs that together make a total time of 52 minutes. It opens with “Sirenum Scopuli”, a one-minute introductory track with a mellow sound, acoustic guitar and vocals. It leads to “React” which is a song I fell in love since the first time I listened to it. The voice caught my attention and now I can say I like it a lot, the guitar sound is great (acoustic and electric), and I also like the effects, don’t really know if made by synthesizers, but they put great atmospheres. The song may be catchy and easy to sing, I truly enjoy doing so.
