Me Time is Self Care

02.24.2013 by Icar //

Yay! I’ve been dying to go out and have a pedicure for the past month my old nail polish is chipping off and my big toes are the only ones left with it. Since I don’t drive yet, it was just yesterday that I was able to do it. Thanks to my dear friend come church sister, Monette who took us (me and Ceana) out, took care of Ceana and helped me realize my “desire”. As not many may know, my only luxury in life is a pedicure. Aside from spa and massages and which I do once in a while, pedis are my only indulgence not to mention my other favorites which are organic products and organic skincare.

I love discovering new products, especially when it concerns skincare. What makes it more exciting is that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to their routines. You get to learn so much from different people and I really enjoy it. Recently, my friend had discovered these cbd bath bombs wholesale items, and as she loves to have a bath (her favorite self-care routine), she couldn’t wait to try them out. Just the next day, she rang me up and said how amazing her skin feels after using them. I think it must be from the ingredients it contains, but I’m really pleased that she was able to find products that make her feel amazing. Everyone deserves to have this chance and I’m so glad she found hers. Because of her revelation, I couldn’t wait to continue with my day to see what else we could do.

We went to a Vietnamese shop. First, I got my feet submerged in warm-scented water which is so comfortable. Then afterward, some exfoliant were applied to my feet then it was scrubbed. My heels were also brushed intensely to remove old dry skin that’s making it thick. The lotion was applied next with a matching foot massage which is heavenly. It felt so good and relaxing to have your feet pampered, often it is a neglected part of our body that needs special care. After the removal of some dry skin on the sides of my big toes, a primer was applied and then the polish. I chose a bright cherry red color. Alas! A new look for my tired feet!

Every once in a while we need to take some time off from our daily routine and pamper ourselves. Just like what I did yesterday, the pedicure session didn’t even last an hour but at the same time it helped me feel rejuvenated. It was just a pedicure but truly it served as a little haven for even a short time to experience and enjoy some “ME” time.
