    2 member family, both senior adults, from Detroit, MI.  Man was laid off several years ago, but continues to work odd jobs.  Woman has worked for her employer for nearly 20 years and still makes close to her original hiring salary.  Her hours have been cut drastically due to slow-down in the business.  This family is having difficulty making ends meet and paying monthly bills.

    I'm nominating a friend of mine & her family of 4 (including herself). They've had a difficult year and a bit, including her brother going missing for months only to turn up tragically dead, the loss of a pregnancy, and downsizing in their workplace. They literally can't afford Christmas this year and are the most deserving, kind people you could ever meet. They have a 4 year old boy and 1 year old girl.
