I have always been a T-shirt girl. Being a teen during the nineties when oversized shirts are so in fashion, I have developed my fondness for shirts more than I did for dresses. This preference for t-shirts has been carried on until I reached college when I was exposed to campus/college shirts and then later on to statement shirts. Now as a mom, some physical and lifestyle changes dictate the kind of clothes I wear. We all know that most of us gain weight during pregnancy and some retain that weight like in my case. My utmost concern now in looking for the clothes I will wear are comfort and fit.
T-shirts need not to be boring. I can see that nowadays, shirts have become very versatile in terms of design and has been a ground for self expression. I was happy to find out about Headline Shirts, a San Francisco based company that manufactures quality vintage blend shirts. The shirts are hand-sewn and uses super soft combination of polyester and cotton blend. Headline Shirts also use eco-friendly inks and materials even on the compostable bags where the shirts are packed.
The company was established in 2005 during the Bush regime so that the early shirt designs made were politically inclined until the transition from what they call now as “intelligently funny tees”.
I was lucky enough to be given the chance to receive a free shirt from Headline Shirts for review. I got engaged in a hugger-mugger state in choosing among the wide array of catchy designs they offer. I ended up choosing a dark gray shirt (dark colors make you slimmer) which has a “Relentlessly Awesome” print.
I got a size Large, from the looks of it, it seemed that it will not fit my physique but then again, it just perfectly fit me and hid all unnecessary bulges. From the picture below, the shirt even gave me some curves. The shirt has a scooped neckline adding depth and made a slimming effect just like that of a V-neck styled shirt.
There is no question in terms of the durability and quality of the fabric. It is made of cotton and very comfortable to the body. I pretty much liked the shirt I got and wanted to try out or buy another one in the future. A great aspect of the shirt aside from it being eco-friendly is that there are so many designs that you can choose from. Moreover, Headlines Shirts showcases not just shirts but stretches its catalog to hoodies, belt buckles, wallets and shoulder bags (coming soon).

If you will be given the chance to design your own shirt, what would be its design? and Why?
I'll just put:
I got my looks from Daddy
I got my brains from Mommy
That's why I'm naughty
This will be for my daughter 🙂 I think the message is cute.

I'm not much of an artist or graphic arts person, but I know that whatever I would do, it would have many, many colors on it. OR, it would be one of those shirts with those nerdy messages on it that are hilarious. Why? Because I love colors, but I'm also a bit of a nerd 😀
Thanks!!! 🙂
