Think of Gains, Not Losses

Philippians 3 8

We are just but sojourners here on earth, everything in here is all but temporary. There is a greater place waiting for us in eternity. These are some thoughts that I will be sharing as I lead our Bible Study group tonight for our Friday Night session. This isn't actually my first time, I have facilitated before for one chapter when we discussed the Purpose Driven Life. Honestly, I am a bit nervous, not because I do not know what to say (I have spent a few nights studying Philippians 3 which is going to be my topic) but because I am so overwhelmed and excited … [Read more...]

Being Grateful When God Says “No”

I have been following a local beauty queen, Miriam Quiambao who won First Runner Up at Miss Universe in 1999. She is actually one of the "celebrities" whom I look up to in terms of her faith. She inspired me with the story of her life-how she met the Lord and how she sustains her faith. I found this today in her Instagram profile and I just want to share for inspiration. Good vibes everyone! Credits : http://instagram.com/p/lQ3qbWEk9V/ … [Read more...]

Five Ways to Nourish and Renew Your Spirit

*This is a guest post.  It’s 1976, and my mom and dad are sitting quietly with their eyes closed, hands resting upward — thumb and index finger touching — while my younger siblings crawl on their backs and shoulders. At least once a week or whenever things got stressful, my parents would pull all five of their children — ranging in age from ten to one — into our library for a family … [Read more...]

International Day of the Girl 10.11.12

I often say that one of the best things that ever happened to me is becoming a mom. A new person that never existed before suddenly knocked on my doorstep. The whole process of motherhood came without a manual, there's really no special instructions along with it and as time goes by you just learn to dance on your own, with your own music. At the first sight of my daughter, the experience brought a fusion of emotions-anticipation, anxiety, selflessness and deep ardour-unconditional love. A new person emerged from me, one who will move mountains and swim oceans … [Read more...]

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms

It's official, I am a Don't Sweat Mom! It is actually a privilege to be one of the first moms to be given the opportunity to read this book. As a first time mom, a newbie that is, there are way so many things to learn, explore and discover. From diapering to feeding issues plus now that my daughter is already a toddler (almost 18 months), the new task of instilling discipline and values arises. The first thing that crossed my mind is "This is what I really needed..." and indeed it is. In this first new Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff book in nine years, Kristine Carlson … [Read more...]
